THE RAVE AS A HEALING SPACE: WHY SO MANY PEOPLE FIND THEMSELVES ON THE DANCE FLOOR

Music has always been tied to healing, but the rave brings that connection to a different level. This piece explores what actually happens in our brain and body during live music events and why so many people turn to the dance floor during difficult seasons. It also looks at how community, movement, and shared experience create a sense of safety that many people do not find anywhere else.

THE FORGOTTEN HISTORIES OF RAVE CULTURE: HONORING THE ROOTS WHILE THE SCENE EVOLVES

Rave culture did not start on massive festival stages. Its roots come from Black, Latino, and queer communities who built the earliest dance floors as spaces of liberation and safety. I wrote this piece to highlight the communities who built the foundations of rave culture and to explain why their stories deserve to be remembered. Understanding where this scene comes from helps us understand what it stands for today <3
